Hi everyone,
Im afraid I have read some bad news on lorenzo's blog and on mounteverest.net..
I have copied and pasted it here:
MountEverest.net/Spain) 7Summits-7Summits-club team member Lorenzo Gariano has updated with shocking news on his website earlier this morning.
“Thomas went blind on the way up, something which was to be expected. He did eventually turn around - but he finally died, despite Harry trying to reanimate him. He could have developed further health problems. We don’t know exactly where or how did this happen. Perhaps at the Second Step, which is a very technical section. We are only speculating here, since we don’t have further news yet.”
“Lincoln, the strong Australian climber, would have summited but he would be having serious health problems on the way down.”
Listen to Lorenzo’s voice dispatches in English and Italian on lorenzo's blog..

Harry and team
The tragic news has just been reported on Alex Abramov's web-site. There are no words at this devastating time. My thoughts go out to the families and friends of Thomas and Lincoln. This has been an unprecedented Everest season.
My thoughts are also with you, Harry.

Words cannot express the sadness all the friends and colleagues of Thomas here in Abu Dhabi are feeling right now. Thomas was a good friend and work colleague and we will miss him terribly. Our sympathies go out to his family and we pray that God will give them the strength to get through this. We would also like to extend our sympathies to the family and friends of Lincoln
Thomas we will never forget you, may you rest in peace.
God bless you
Ruth

Bill here,
I am truely saddened by the loss of our teammates. My heart goes out to the families and friends of Igor, Thomas and Lincoln. I will remember them for the rest of my days.

Yes, condolences indeed. The other person to think about is Alex Abramov. It must have been an appalling few days for him hearing this unfold and trying to co-ordinate the various rescue efforts. He must be shattered.
